Enhance your career at the 50th Annual AIR Forum
You are invited to the 2010 AIR Forum, Charting our Future in Higher Education,
at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers, the same city where the very first Forum
was held 50 years ago. The 2010 Forum is an ideal time to reflect with colleagues
on the history of institutional research and our role in improving higher education
for the future.
We are especially excited about a series of White Paper Discussion Groups that will
meet on Sunday afternoon to discuss new directions in institutional research and
how AIR can promote exchange of scholarship and knowledge between institutional
researchers from all types of backgrounds. See the
Educational Opportunities page for more information about the White Paper Discussion
Groups and how to nominate yourself or a colleague to participate.
We are also introducing a new feature that allows you to spend a full afternoon
focused on one of five special topics. Learn more about the Targeted Affinity Groups,
or TAGs, on the Educational Opportunities page.
We are proud to announce our plenary speakers, William G. Bowen and Jamie Merisotis,
and look forward to their presentations. Dr. Bowen’s important new book, Crossing
the Finish Line: Completing College at America’s Public Universities, looks
at college drop-out rates and the linkage to race, gender, and socio-economic status.
Mr. Merisotis, president and CEO of Lumina Foundation for Education, is a veteran
policy and research organization leader known for his innovative, out-of-the-box
thinking.
Most of all, we are looking forward to seeing you! The 2010 Forum is a time to celebrate
50 years of coming together to share ideas and practices, and to plan for the next
50. Join us as we chart our future in higher education.
Sincerely,
