Newcomers Reception and Mentor/Mentee Gathering

On Sunday evening following the Newcomers Workshop, meet with mentors experienced
in the field of IR who will offer their expertise and guidance. Learn valuable tricks
of the trade and develop a professional network with IR experts who are committed

Forum Opening Reception

Join us in the Exhibit Hall immediately after the Plenary Session for refreshments
and heavy hors d'œuvres. Network with colleagues and friends and learn about the
latest products and services from our exhibitors that can improve the effectiveness
of your office and the performance of your institution.
Graduate Student Gathering
Monday, May 31, 4:45 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Graduate students are encouraged to attend this informal gathering that provides
an opportunity to meet with experienced IR professionals to learn more about the
skills needed to succeed in the field, benefits of AIR membership, and funding options
available to support participation in professional development training offered
by the Association and doctoral research.

AIR President Julia M. Duckwall Scholarship Dinner
Monday, May 31, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
The Duckwall Scholarship Celebration is your opportunity to honor our past while
building our future. Proceeds from this event benefit the Julia M. Duckwall Scholarship
Fund.
The Julia M. Duckwall Scholarship facilitates the professional growth and development
of individuals who work in institutional research and related fields. Named in honor
of our late prominent member and board member, Julia Duckwall, the scholarship is
awarded in the spirit of her tireless passion for advancing the field of institutional
research. Each year, funds from the scholarship provide two members the opportunity
to attend an AIR Institute.
Join AIR Presidents, past and present, on Monday, May 31, 2010, from 7:00 – 9:00
p.m. to celebrate the legacy of Julia M. Duckwall. The dinner will be hosted at
P.J.
Clarke’s, one of the Windy City’s most popular destinations. The restaurant
is located one block north of the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers.

Forum Celebration
Monday, May 31, 9:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
The golden anniversary of the Forum is a time to reflect on the advancements made
in IR over the last 50 years and to celebrate the new directions we are charting
together in higher education. The Windbreakers will make an encore performance as
we share old memories and create new ones at this lively reception.
Julia M. Duckwall Scholarship Fund – AIR Quilt Raffle
Celebrate the history of AIR and contribute to the future of the field by participating
in a raffle for an AIR Memorabilia Quilt. Created by Elizabeth Settle, the quilt
displays memories of AIR events that have been bringing members together for the
past 50 years. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Julia M. Duckwall Scholarship Fund.
Tickets can be purchased during the Forum at the Registration Desk and from Forum
Committee Members. The winner will be drawn at the 50th Forum Celebration.
Forum Windup Party
